Mac OSX 10.X

Follow the instructions below to configure your computer for High-Speed Internet in Mac OS 10.1.X:

  • Open the System preferences program from the Dock (System preferences can also be opened from the Apple Menu)


  • Click Network


  • Make sure your Ethernet card is displayed and change the Configure menu to Using DHCP
  • You do not need to specify a DHCp Client ID, Domain Name Servers, or Search Domains


Network Utility

  • Mac OS X comes with a Network Utility to assist in troubleshooting. You will find it in your root drive under Applications -> Utilities
  • Click the Network Utility icon to open it


  • The Network Utility allows you to obtain network information (hardware address, Ip address, link status, and Transfer statistics)


  • The Network Utility will also help you perform troubleshooting with tools like ping, Traceroute, and Lookup (nslookup)
